Jewellery and Watch was the first jewellery trade show I attended back when I was a student on the HND jewellery and silversmithing course. It is held at the NEC in Birmingham and runs alongside the Spring Fair. I displayed there with the company I worked for in 2016 and 2017 and loved it. The jewellery trade shows are amazing networking events with so much talent, showcasing the work and new collections of the well know and new designers of the UK jewellery industry. I was so happy to see some of the people I exhibited alongside showcasing again this year, although, the show had definitely lost a bit of it's wow factor since I went originally. The catwalk was not there which meant neither were the guest speakers which were both always highly attended events throughout the show. Despite this I did feel the layout of the show was better than 2017 and all exhibitors seemed to be in high spirits.
Although I am not entirely sure my jewellery is right for the UK Jewellery trade, I still think it is very important to attend the events for networking opportunities and to keep in the know of what is changing within the industry I am wanting to be part of.
